herveybay.tours is written for people planning a trip to Hervey Bay: Queenslanders driving up from Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast, families working around school holidays, grey nomads with time to spare, and international travellers on the east-coast route. Most of you arrive with the same questions: when are the whales here, which boat, half day or full day, how to get to K'gari (Fraser Island), and what it all costs. Each page tries to answer those questions quickly, with numbers first and a clear recommendation at the end.

The site is written in Australian English and published by the publisher of herveybay.tours. We are not a tour operator, not Visit Fraser Coast, not Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and not affiliated with any operator we review.

How we choose and check tours

• Official sources first. Operator facts (departure points, vessels, season dates, sighting policies) are checked on the operator's own website or on government pages, and each guide lists the sources it used.
