Klook is an online booking platform for tours and activities, operated by Klook Travel Technology Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong. It sells activities in many countries, Australia included, and has a short list in Hervey Bay. (You may read that Klook mainly serves Asian travellers; Klook's own pages we checked do not say so, so we make no claim.)

How Klook works
Klook's terms make the usual marketplace split: the operators provide the services, Klook sells the booking. Three points in its terms are worth knowing before you book anything:
- Cancellation varies by listing. Windows "vary on a case by case basis" and are shown at purchase.
- Reviews come by invitation after a completed booking, and reviewers may earn KlookCash for writing them.
- Paid placement exists. Operators can pay for promotion, and those listings are marked "Sponsored".
None of that is unusual — most platforms rank partly on commercial terms — but it means the order of results is not a pure quality ranking.
One practical point: check that prices are shown in Australian dollars before comparing with an operator's site.
What Klook lists in Hervey Bay
When we checked, Klook's Hervey Bay tours page carried about seven trips:

Every one was marked "Free cancellation". The list page does not name the operators; open each listing to find out who runs it. Compared with GetYourGuide's 30-plus Hervey Bay trips in our feed, or about 15 on Viator, it is a small selection.
Klook whale watching and K'gari: what to check
Who runs it. Hervey Bay has several whale operators with very different boats — a big catamaran with underwater windows, a sailing catamaran for about two dozen, a fast cat for the full day. Find the operator's name on the Klook listing, then read our operator reviews or boat types guide.
The whale swim. A remote K'gari and whale day may include an in-water whale encounter, but on the equivalent Tasman Venture trip it is offered only "when conditions permit, at the skippers discretion", and chances fall from September. Treat any swim as a possibility, not a promise.
The reef day. The listing does not say on the list page where it goes. The established reef day from Hervey Bay is the fly-in trip to Lady Elliot Island — about 40 minutes by light aircraft, with check-in at the Lady Elliot Island counter at Hervey Bay Airport — which the resort sells direct. Confirm the destination and operator before paying.
Departure points. Whale boats leave from Urangan; K'gari 4WD days use River Heads or hotel pick-ups; a tour sold "from Noosa, Sunshine Coast or Hervey Bay" may have several pick-up regions. The exact check-in point is on your voucher.
Klook cancellation and reviews in practice
"Free cancellation" on a Klook card tells you the listing allows it; the product page tells you until when. Operators' own terms in Hervey Bay are often stricter than 24 hours: Pacific Whale Foundation, Freedom and Blue Dolphin each want more than 48 hours for a full refund when you book direct. Platforms can be more generous than the operator, or less. Read the box.
On reviews, look at the count behind each score: a handful of reviews is too few to judge a trip on. Larger samples exist elsewhere — the remote K'gari day has ★4.9 from 1,318 reviews on GetYourGuide, for example — and the operators' sites carry their own policies. Prices checked regularly on our side.
